Beating the Load Shedding Blues

The first thing is the total current demand from your system.

Let’s look at an easy way to determine this.

Look at the capacity of the battery that has been supplied. Mostly you will find a 7AH or 8AH battery. In some instances you may have been provided with an 18AH battery.

Establish for how long the battery maintains your system when the power outs, and divide the capacity of the battery with the number of hours of operation maintained.

This rough calculation will give you an estimate of the Current in Amps that your system will draw per hour.

The Global Smart Home Trend -Smart Locks- Part IV-4

Smart Locks – some say, will do away with the need for physical keys. You will however continue to need your physical keys. When the smart system fails for any reason, you will need a method to manually access at least one of the doors.I have had occasion to call glass-smiths to remove windows, so that occupants could access the building after a bio-metric failure. Your smart lock designs need to consider the manual alternatives in the event of a failure.Smart locks do however reduce bottlenecks within access control processes, enhance efficiency, safety, and security.

Global Smart Home Trend – Part III (Lighting)

The one downside of this solution is that the light switches have to remain, switched on – all the time.

If you have a lot of lights, or the light sockets are not standard ( Some sockets may not be designed to accommodate smart bulbs) , an alternative solution is to replace the light switches with smart switches. Smart Switches can prove an economical way to make the whole lighting system smart, without having to replace a large number of bulbs. Smart switches will work with the lighting that is already connected to the existing switches.

Building Your Smart Home With Gensix Tech

The Global Smart Home Trend – Part II

In the smart home – that’s not a nice to have. Smart homes depend on wi-fi coverage.

Logically, the second step in building your smart home, is to create a wi-fi mesh network.

The mesh network creates seamless wi-fi coverage throughout your home. As you move about the house, your devices will seamlessly connect to the strongest signal.

You might have seen some clunky systems like this. Those systems need you to manually connect to different sources in the house each time you are out of range of the last connection.

The core wi-fi mesh created by gensix keeps you connected seamlessly, wherever you are in the house. Our basic system will provide coverage over 3500 square meters, we can also future proof the system by deploying our wi-fi6 systems – the brand new wi-fi standard.
